Mike, Syracuse, New York. 2002.

My recent adventures in scanning have been fruitful – I have unearthed some of my favorite old portraits, like this one of my dear friend Mike.

Mike and I collaborated on this portrait some time in the year 2002 – I think – and seeing it almost fifteen years brings me right back to my time working at Syracuse University’s Community Darkrooms.  I fondly remember all of the late nights making portraits of everyone that would sit for me, long days spotting scans for publication, and my boss playing The Flaming Lips nonstop over the facility stereo.  I had a blast.

I look forward to sharing more portraits from the archive in the near future.  Until then…
