Dan, one of my oldest friends and professional colleagues, recently visited Alexandria, Virginia, and we had an opportunity to make a portrait that reflects his dedication to his Masonic brotherhood as well as his fantastic sense of humor. I am not sure what Dan was expecting when I begged him to bring down some “grotto clothing” for his visit, but we had a great time knocking out a series of portraits that we both love.
Dan walked away with a handful of prints that he can use as a keepsake or even upload to Facebook and I had a chance to do one of my favorite things as a photographer – explore subcultures that stoke my curiosity. I hope to work with Dan and his colleagues in the future to document more of this philanthropic brotherhood of his. Until then…
