A quick portrait from Marrakech’s Djemaa el Fnaa made at sunset just over four years ago. The sitter – a friend whose name has been lost to time and distance – was a constant fixture at the public square and recognized me from many, many visits.
I have spent hours upon hours working on my portfolio of photographs from Morocco and have relived adventures and emotional moments throughout the process. This process has reminded me of many of our friendships made during our time in the country and how hard it was to leave. We haven’t been back since packing our apartment and sending it in boxes back to DC, though I am looking forward to returning and looking for some of our old friends across the country. Time to brush up on my darija…
Note – of course I understand that my inability to finish the Morocco portfolio is a reflection on my unwillingness to put that chapter of my life to bed. So what? 🙂
Maybe we should go to Morocco !
