Scott Vogel – frontman of Terror and World Be Free – sat for his portrait during the marathon “Uhaul Sessions” this past April outside of Richmond’s United Blood hardcore and punk festival. I have known Scott for about twenty years now (wait – woah!) and it was an honor to make his portrait. I have been a fan of Scott’s bands for two decades – I think that I even booked Despair once – and it was a real kick to make his portrait. Thank you, Scott, for trusting me with your portrait!
Dan and Teemu recently sat for their portrait during the marathon “Uhaul Sessions” this past April outside of Richmond’s United Blood hardcore and punk festival. Dan and Teemu’s story is awesome – they are best buds and go everywhere together. How could we not make their portrait?
Ace Stallings, frontman of Break Away and one of the masterminds behind Richmond’s United Blood festival, sat for a portrait during the marathon “Uhaul Sessions” this past April. Ace fit in time between helping with the fest, performing an after-hours set, and enjoying the fest – i.e., moshing – and was a great sitter.
Alex Gil, an incredibly talented architect and designer based in Brooklyn, New York, recently dropped in on my Alexandria, Virginia studio to sit for a portrait. Alex was familiar with my portraiture and was eager to update his bank of photographs to draw from for promotional work…and to have a few laughs! I think that our collaboration delivered on both fronts.
Guav, an old buddy from Syracuse, recently sat for a portrait in my mobile studio outside of the United Blood hardcore and punk rock festival in Richmond, Virginia. I have known Guav for the better part of twenty years now and fondly recall copying his artwork, cribbing his style and sleeping on his floor more than any normal person would have ever allowed for – he’s always been a mensch. I was thrilled to make his portrait and to give something back after all of these years and I look forward to photographing him and his son together soon.
Dwid Hellion, frontman for legendary hardcore / metal band Integrity, recently sat for a portrait during my U-haul sessions outside of the United Blood hardcore and punk festival in Richmond, Virginia. I have listened to Integrity for the better part of the last 20 years and it was a real treat to get a few minutes to talk with Dwid and make his portrait.
Todd Jones, frontman / maniac behind Nails and contributor / writer for an endless roster of excellent hardcore and punk bands, sat for a portrait during the marathon “Uhaul Sessions” last month outside of Richmond, Virginia’s United Blood festival. Todd was a great sitter and delivered a dose of intensity to his time in the studio.
