Alex Gil, an incredibly talented architect and designer based in Brooklyn, New York, recently dropped in on my Alexandria, Virginia studio to sit for a portrait. Alex was familiar with my portraiture and was eager to update his bank of photographs to draw from for promotional work…and to have a few laughs! I think that our collaboration delivered on both fronts.
I recently collaborated with Carl Severson, head honcho at Good Fight Entertainment and an old friend of mine, on a series of portraits while visiting New Jersey. Carl saw some of my recent portraiture and suggested a collaboration to use for business purposes and, as an artist can only wish for, simply told me to do what I do. Fantastic, right?
Dominic, an excellent graphic designer from the DC / Baltimore area, recently dropped in on the Alexandria, Virginia studio to sit for a portrait. Dominic was familiar with my portraiture and, after discussing collaboration over the course of a few months, sat for a series of portraits in my studio.
As I mentioned earlier, I recently traveled to Syracuse, New York and made portraits of my friend Ron and his family. Working with the Kains on their portraits was a treat!
Photographer J. Wayne Higgs, a fixture of the Washington, D.C., photojournalism and fine arts photography scene for the past forty years, recently came to my studio to sit for a portrait. Over the course of an hour, Mr. Higgs shared incredible stories touching on everything from the Pentagon riots in 1967 and the 1971 DC riots (both assignments that he covered from the front) to his adventures as an artist and figure model working consistently for longer than I have been alive.
